River Report- 5/17/2020

May is amazing! The flows are low, the midge hatch is going crazy and the Lees Ferry fish are feeding like mad! Midges are definitely the ticket. Marble Canyon Outfitters fish midges in the 18 to 20 range in various colors. The colors matter. Practice your Knot tying and change your midge color often AS LONG as your drift is perfect. If your indicator moves your bug moves and there for we are just practicing at that point. Run your drift long and perfect with the right weight and you WILL catch fish. If you are struggling to catch fish at Lees Ferry, Marble Canyon Outfitters can help you become a better fly fisherman. We are patient and considerate and we can make you better if you feel you need it. We love teaching people who want to learn!

Spin fishing continuous to produce the bigger fish but the abundance of moss in the water is a bit frustrating. 1/4 TO 3/4 jigs and Kastmasters are working great. Spinners in the lower water.

kayak, paddle boarding and canoeing is going strong! Come float the horseshoe bend and look at indian petroglyphs, white sandy beach’s and pristine water
