Marble Canyon Outfitters

MICK LOVETT

Mick Lovett has been fishing since he was a little boy and fly fishing is his passion. He landed his first rainbow on a fly rod at Lees Ferry when he was just 4 years old. He has spent countless days on the waters surrounding his home town of Page, Arizona — a mere 5 miles from Lake Powell and only 45 miles from Lee’s Ferry. He has owned and operated his own boat on Lake Powell and Lees Ferry since the age of 14, and is now the owner/operator of Marble Canyon Outfitters. Mick has had a fishing rod in his hand since the day he could walk, and his father and his predecessor to MCO, Jon “Rocky” Lovett, took him on many fly fishing trips in the four corner states. He has always taken pride in teaching and sharing what he’s learned with anyone who is willing. He is young and ambitions and is looking forward to taking you out on Lee’s Ferry in the pursuit of the wild and beautiful rainbows that Lee’s Ferry has to offer.

Kyle Klemme

Kyle Klemme has recently turned a growing passion of fly fishing into a fulfilling career.  Growing up in Page, AZ Kyle always found a way to get to the woods or to water and would have it no other way. Kyle was first turned on to using a fly rod by childhood friend – now boss – Mick Lovett. Mick’s father, Rocky, was the first to have him hooked up with a rainbow on “Four mile’’. Ever since then he has never passed up a fishing trip or tip. Turning a spare time hobby into a full time learning career, Kyle has practiced the finer points of fly fishing.  It’s more than the size or the numbers to him. It’s about pursuing your goals and happiness. Knowing that there are always new ways and places to throw a fly, he has taken his rod with him to foreign waters in pursuit of keeping the line tight and tip high.  From rainbows to bones, to lunkers or fry, he believes any fish is better than a skunk.  Kyle enjoys showing people his beautiful surroundings and teaching them something new, either with fishing ,hunting or general knowledge of culture and history in his area.  Kyle plans on having many years to come fish with him, whether up river or hitting up the “Walk In”. He is always ready to guide you in the right direction.

"While I consider myself a good angler with sound technical skills, Rocky may be the best guide I have ever seen. If you believe a guide's job is to put you "into fish" that will ALWAYS happen with Rocky. Regardless of the conditions or different approaches, I have never been disappointed, and always learn something new. Being surrounded with the canyon beauty, accompanied by a great guide, what's not to like!"
